THE CHOIR
Rhythm ‘n’ Roots choir is a joyful, adventurous and deeply curious musical venture. We perform a wide variety of music including traditional songs in their original languages and contemporary original works by some of the most dynamic songwriters on the scene today. Our name speaks to our passion for rhythm and rootedness in our musical exploration.
We are an auditioned 50-voice community choir. We learn our music by ear and from written scores. We are based in East Vancouver and rehearse Wednesday evenings from September to June. We typically have three or more public performances each season.
We rehearse and perform on the traditional and unceded land of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and səl ̓ ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
