UPCOMING CONCERTS
We live in a world and in times that are crying out for positive change. When we get off course, we naturally have to step out of line, move and do differently. And as we step out of the box where do we find ourselves, but with others, in a circle, in community.
Rhythm ’n’ Roots choir, under the “leading with light “direction of Karla Mundy offers “Be The Arc” on Saturday May 23, 7:30 pm at Canadian Memorial Church. This concert‘s title “ Be The Arc” hails from a song of the same name by our featured guest folk singer and activist, BC’s own Luke Wallace. He’s today’s fresh faced answer to Pete Seeger. His songs are for the people and plant seeds to heal the world. “ Yeah it’s a heartbreak, but keep your head up, they knock us down but the people always get up, breathe in, breathe out, be the arc of freedom bending”. Repertoire for this concert features songs from the Americas, Eastern Europe and the Balkans. As Moira Smiley’s anthem “Keep On Going” states: “There is no other way but love.”
